Celestron Firstscope 114 EQ
The
Firstscope 114 series features three models to meet your individual needs.
Both are high quality, economical telescope with superb optical systems
housed in a glossy black metal tube.
The equatorial mount is stable, with setting circles and slow motion
controls on both axes for easy, smooth tracking.
The 114mm reflector is the chosen starterscope for many astronomers. It
offers a good cost/optics size ratio delivering bright and high power images
at economical prices. The light gathering power of this instrument makes it
an ideal choice to start properly viewing galaxies, star clusters, nebulae
as well as planetary and lunar observations. For those wanting a high
performing starterscope at minimal cost then this is the telescope for you.
Optics are subject to the same exacting standards as all Celestrons
telescopes.
The
Celestron Firstscope 114EQ is supplied on the versatile CG-3 equatorial
mount which can be upgraded with motor drive units to allow hands free
viewing and automatic tracking at high powers, and also basic
astrophotography. Also included is an aluminium tripod with an accessory
tray. The accessory tray can be used to store accessories when not in use,
as well as adding even more rigidity to the tripod giving shake free views.
The finderscope and eyepieces of the 114 are the same as supplied with
Celestron telescopes at much higher costs, and are vastly superior to those
on competing models.
This is a versatile and useful instrument that will take an observer from the
very first view through the eyepiece of a telescope, through many years of
observing the wonders of the night sky.
