It's a powerful optical instrument with over 165 times the light gathering ability of the naked eye. This ability allows the FirstScope 90 AZ to deliver images 78% brighter than those produced by a 60mm refractor telescope. The objective lens is designed to yield the finest images available in this class of optical instrument. The accessories for this telescope are all made of glass with metal construction, to ensure good image quality.

This telescope has all glass components, coated optics and smooth functioning mounts, with the added benefit of slow motion controls on the mount for easy adjustments. The Firstscope 90 AZ telescope tube is glossy black aluminium.

Make no mistake - this telescope is no toy. The aluminium tube contains all glass coated optics with no stops.The telescope will accept the high quality 31.7mm eyepieces as supplied with bigger Celestron telescopes for those wishing to upgrade the optics later. The simple altazimuth mount allows vertical and horizontal movements for quick astro and terrestrial pointing. In addition there is the benefit of a slow motion control rod for fine vertical adjustments.

The firstscope 90 AZ will allow high magnification views of lunar landscapes, Saturn and its rings, Jupiter and its moons, larger globular clusters and bright double stars. With an optional solar filter (and supervision if necessary) you can observe activity on the sun such as sunspots. This versatile telescope can also be used for daytime terrestrial viewing for studying distant views or wildlife.
