It automatically selects the best objects in the sky for that particular time and location (from its database of over 30,000 celestial objects). All you need is a clear night, a dark sky and a little curiosity. Automatic Alignment + SmartFinder™
Meade's new ETX-Premier Edition automatically levels your telescope, points it to North and sets the time. You just enter your location or zip code. After your ETX completes its patented Level North automatic alignment procedure it will point to the first alignment star. Use the new wide-field SmartFinder to center the red dot over the alignment stars for ultra-precise pointing accuracy. It’s that easy.

More Power Than You’ll Ever Need.
Any astronomer will tell you that light gathering-not power-is what matters. A small, crisp image is better than a large hazy one. Meade’s 1.25" diameter Super Plössl eyepieces provide wider fields of view, allowing you to see more of the sky at greater magnifications.

Meade UHTC™ is a series of exotic optical coatings precisely tuned to optimize the visual, photographic and CCD imaging performance of your ETX telescope. Image brightness is increased by nearly 15% over standard Meade coatings. Objects such as stars, galaxies and nebulae as observed through your ETX will be dramatically brighter. Even observations of the Moon and planets will benefit in increased image brightness from the full spectrum of light transmission.
